If available, we have designed our leadership structure to include two officers to fill the following positions: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Event Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator, and Membership Coordinator. Generally, this will mean a lead Officer and an Assistant. When a second officer is not available, the Presidents will fill in as needed.
Why do we generally have two people fill each role? What we have found as an organization is that being a leader can sometimes be stressful, especially if you are someone that is also managing a mental health diagnosis. So, it is better to have someone to share the load with and it is way more fun! Additionally, this creates a backup of the responsibilities should one of the leaders become sick or is absent for any reason.
